THE CIRCLE OF FOURTH
There are many passing chords for any progression in a song all you need is to know how to apply it at the particular time. Most times the left hand play the major role especially in the circle of forth. The application of this technique make you sound advance when playing the piano. Here are some passing note you can apply when playing a song.
- Circle of fourth
The circle of fourth is the movement of the fourth (4th) note chromatically from the the third of the root where you are heading to in the progression of the song.
example: am playing a song and am at LAH chord heading to the FAH chord, what am going to do is play a movement of fourth beginning from the Major 3rd note of the FAH chord which is LAH and play a movement of fourth after that the result i get from the movement will be:
LAH - REH - SOH - DOH - FAH
So that will be the result i get from the movement. below i will show you what my left hand plays when making that movement.
LEFT HAND RIGHT HAND
LAH SO - TI - DO - MI
REH FEH - TI - DO - MI
SOH FA - LA - TOR - REH
DOH MI - LA - TOR - REH
FAH MI - SO - LA - DO
WOW..... did you try that movement above, it sound super advance. so that the interesting part of the CIRCLE OF FOURTH, it help you move easily to and chord of your choice.
