how to solo Igbo songs in a native way (exercise 15)

Welcome back,

During the last tutorial (exercise 14) we learn about How to apply the suspended chord or sus chord
Today we are going learn how to solo Igbo songs in a native way.
Hope you enjoy the last tutorial exercise 14☺😉? Yes i did! !
Very Good 👏

Let's get started!!!!!

Firstly what you need to know about the Igbo type of of play is that they have similar chord progression and they make use of simple chord progression, also the majorly deal with the major chords.
the south-east in Nigeria have a pattern which normally is the vamping of chord and their piano solo is quit different from the white way.

I made research and found out that the igbos pianist don't solo with one note, they solo with either  two notes or chord which i took time to know why. The main reason i discover is because of their intonation while singing. so when you solo with a note you might get the voicing but not the main intonation of the singer.

Below am going to show you tricks you can use to solo an Igbo songs to get the intonation of the singer perfectly,
NOTE: This tricks works for all Igbo's songs.

Below am going to show you chords o note you can use to replace the voicing when  soloing an Igbo song.

Voicing        Chords or notes use for soloing

DOH               SOH + DOH

REH                TIH + REH  or TOR + REH

MIH                DOH + MIH

FAH               REH + FAH

SOH               MIH + SOH

LAH              FAH + LAH

TIH                SOH + TIH

This can help you get the real intonation of an igbo singer.
